Carlsbad, July 1, 2023

The SoCal Dutch Lions FC women's team ended the 2023 season in 4th place in a strong Plymouth Division, behind San Diego Surf, San Diego Strikers and Albion San Diego. The team won one game, tied three and lost four, scored 15 goals and conceded 16 goals. The team did manage to take away a point from champions San Diego Surf, the only point they lost in the regular season.

After a tough 2-4 loss in their home opener vs Albion San Diego, the Lions tied Albion on the road in a hard fought 2-2 and managed to pick up another point in the away game vs powerhouse San Diego Strikers (also 2-2). In their 3rd road game the Lions lost 4-2 vs San Diego Surf before picking up their first win of the season away vs San Diego Parceiro Ladies with a solid 0-4 win. After a very good performance vs San Diego Surf (0-0) at home the Lions had a key game looking at securing 2nd place but the San Diego Strikers went home with three points after a 1-2 loss. The final game of the season was played this weekend at home vs San Diego Parceiro Ladies and ended in a 2-2 draw.
